An ONLF trooper is taking a pause after regrouping with fellow soldiers and officers on top of a hill. The war in Ogadenia has increased in intensity and violance in recent months, between governmet forces and rebels. /JONATHAN ALPEYRIE
The Ogaden National Liberation Front [ONLF] forces have carried out heavy attacks against Ethiopian troops occupying the Ogaden. Heavy casualties, including deaths and injuries, were inflicted on enemy Ethiopian troops in the attacks, which occurred in various parts of the Ogaden, and military equipment was captured from them.
On 5 March 2010, Ogaden liberation fighters carried out nocturnal attacks on enemy Ethiopian army bases in Yoocaale and Dhagaxbuur, Jarar. Five Ethiopian soldiers were killed and 7 others were wounded in Dhagaxbuur attack. Massive losses were reported on the enemy, in Yoocaale, details of which are not unavailable.
On 8 March 2010, ONLF fighters and Ethiopian troops clashed in Dalaad and Goodle villages in Qorahay Province. Total of Eight Ethiopian soldiers were killed and 8 others were wounded in the fighting.
On 11 March 2010, Ogaden liberation fighters carried a planned attack against enemy soldiers stationed at Dhambacaad, Doollo province, killing 7 members of the Ethiopian and wounding 9 others, some seriously.
On 15 March 2010 ONLF special units carried out a well-planned and well-executed attacks on weakling Ethiopian soldiers based in Dalaad, Qorahay province, killing 3 soldiers and wounding 2 others.
