SOMALILAND: Two days of heavy rains floods Hargeisa City

HARGEISA(SomalilandPress)– Heavy rains have flooded the capital of Somaliland Hargeisa after the city experienced two days of rains the most that it has had this year. Several homes and lives have been lost due to the severity of the rain with strong winds. Most of the damage came from floods due to improper flood control and lack of infrastructure drainage system in the capital.

Most of the residents that SomalilandPress was able to speak with were very appreciative to God for the rain during this holy month of Ramadan. Speaking to SomalilandPress reporter, resident Ahmed Warsame said "Allahmduilla, we thank Allah for this rain that we had last two days after months of drought in the city and the country". Residents are now busy cleaning the streets after the floods left massive trash and mud from the floods.
